Boskone but not Capricon, eh? See how you are. :-(

Haven't figured out how to bilocate yet.

Besides, much as I love Cap, Boskone was my first convention -- 42 years ago -- and it has a special place in my heart. Though I don't miss the Sheraton, at all...

Too bad you'll be at SCU on a Tuesday night. With my stupid work schedule (5 a.m. to 5 p.m. - I get up at 3 a.m.) it's hard for me to do anything at night during the week.

I'll think good thoughts for you that night as you will be close geographically. (We live in Sunnyvale, which borders on Santa Clara.)

Actually, that talk is at 4:00 pm which, given your work schedule, is no help. Oh, well. It's a new talk and so I have no idea if it is going to "work" or not! Always fun, performing without a net...

DeSales in Allentown? That's just up the road from me! Do you have details yet? Lunch or dinner?

Since I used to live there, too (I taught at Lafayette in the 1980s) I am already overbooked with folks I need to catch up with... and that's not even counting my Jesuit friends in Scranton and former MITSFS skinner Marc Alpert who's now working in Towanda. Clearly, I am going to have to plan on a longer stay at some future point.

You realize, of course, that you and I will both be at Boskone? Not on panels together alas, and I am so busy there I may not see half the people I want to see.

During my De Sales gig, I am actually staying with my hosts who live out in Jim Thorpe, so it's not as close as you'd think. (Husband and wife prof's; the husband works at Penn State Hazleton, hence the two bookings.) The scary part is that the person who invited me to De Sales is the daughter of a friend of mine. When did they start letting little kids become professors?

Kinda figgered you'd be busy-like. What's the title of the talk, since I may want to wander out that way and take it in.

Jim Thorpe? That's on the wrong side of the Kittatinny, fer shure. I hope the weather looks on you kindly!

Log your flights and take an average speed for the month.
Silly Valley (a week too early for potlatch) to Boskone to Chicago may not leave you with synapses to spare when you pass through here . . . I guess I won't expect a dinner group or any such.

I don't expect to see anyone of the GT group during this Chicago trip; it is just packed to the gills...

The total number of air miles I will travel during this trip is 24,785. (I have a spreadsheet to keep track of my mileage.) The circumference of the Earth is 24,901. So I will be about a hundred and twenty miles short of circling the globe, this trip.
